What is JusTap & How it works

Problem
Small Business Pain Points:

  • Limited budgets

  • Difficulty managing time

  • Lack of diverse expertise

These challenges make it hard for small businesses to efficiently outsource and manage projects.

Key Problem to Solve:
How might we help small business owners find and manage reliable outsourcing partners efficiently, even with limited resources?”

Solution

JusTap simplifies complex outsourcing workflows by providing an intuitive and responsive UI that allows users to manage their tasks with minimal effort.

1. Dashboard & Service Details

A centralized dashboard with pop-up modals provides users a clear view of ongoing projects and detailed service information, ensuring transparency.

2. Request Creation & Transparent Pricing

Users can easily create work requests while viewing clear pricing upfront, helping small businesses manage budgets and expectations effectively.

3. Expert Matching & Progress Status

The platform connects clients to verified experts suited for their needs and offers real-time progress updates, boosting trust and satisfaction.

4. Comment & Feedback System

Built-in communication tools facilitate ongoing feedback between clients and freelancers, improving collaboration and quality control.

Paint Point & Needs

Key Pain Points Identified

These recurring themes from user interviews revealed clear patterns of challenges that small business owners consistently face when managing outsourced projects.

Limited Budgets

A small business might not have the financial resources to hire additional staff or invest in necessary tools and technologies.

Time Management

Small businesses often have a small team juggling multiple responsibilities, meaning less time available to focus on individual tasks.

Lack of Diverse Expertise

Small business owners might lack specialists in specific areas, requiring individuals to take on multiple roles beyond their core competencies.

Understanding who drives our design decisions

Design

User Flow and Information Architecture

For JusTap, the user flow and information architecture were carefully crafted to support the primary goals of simplifying outsourcing project management and enhancing user trust and efficiency.

Design

Low-Fidelity Wireframes

“Focusing on flow, simplicity, and development efficiency”

The low-fidelity wireframes for JusTap were designed to validate the overall user flow and ensure the platform felt simple, intuitive, and easy to navigate. At this stage, the focus was not on visual details but on defining how users move through core tasks from service discovery to project management.

Design

Design System at JusTap

The JusTap design system is a foundational framework that enables our design and development teams to create a cohesive and scalable user interface across the platform. It standardizes core design elements such as typography, colors, icons, spacing, and interactive components like buttons and forms.

Solution #1

An integrated all-in-one dashboard that lets clients view all services at a glance.

All-in-One Dashboard & Service Detail

Pain Point: Small business owners can’t afford multiple tools or hire extra staff.

  • Solution:

All-in-one dashboard powered by a subscription model.

Clients can request any service included in the subscription, regardless of pricing tiers.

Service Detail modals provide clear scope, deliverables, and process info.

  • Outcome:

    Faster, simpler outsourcing workflow.

Reduced back-and-forth communication between clients and freelancers.

Solution #2

A streamlined request system that collects project details upfront and provides transparent pricing.

Request Form & Pricing Transparency

Pain Point: Small business owners struggle to submit requests efficiently while keeping costs clear and under control.

  • Solution:

Clear request form that gathers all project details upfront.

Transparent pricing displayed before submission → clients know costs in advance.

    Click-to-request workflow reduces manual back-and-forth.

  • Outcome:

Clients can submit requests quickly and confidently.

Accurate quotes minimize confusion or miscommunication.

Saves time for both clients and freelancers, enhancing productivity.

Solution #3

Centralized comment and progress tracking system to keep clients and freelancers aligned.

Comment & Progress Tracking

Pain Point: Small business owners struggle to identify the right professional for each task.

  • Solution:

Tasks automatically assigned to qualified freelancers.

Inline comments enable direct communication at each stage.

Progress bars and timestamps show task status and next steps.

Automated updates keep clients informed without extra effort.

  • Outcome:

Clients can confidently work with assigned professionals despite lack of personal expertise.

Faster feedback loops and fewer errors.

Improved communication, clarity, and project efficiency.

What I Learned and Next Steps

Focus on What Matters Most

Through this project, I learned the importance of identifying what brings the most value to users within a limited timeline.
Customer constraints: the lack of clarity around past service requests.

Priority:
Building a dashboard > Sign up page

Finding the Right Market Fit

Beyond user research, I also focused on understanding the product’s unique value in the market and how it stands apart from competitors.

Product evolved from
freelancers ↔ clients
freelancers + AI ↔ clients
